Hebrews 10:24 – “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (NIV).
Real friends bring out the best in each other. They encourage and motivate one another to reach their goals. Friends who will cheer you up on your success and optimistically support you on your failures.
There’s an old Zambian proverb that says, “When you run alone, you run fast. But when you run together, you run far.” The lifetime of God glorifying habits ahead of you — is not a 50-yard run. It is a marathon.
Marathon runners know there comes a point when you start getting a pain in your side that makes you want to give up. But if you have other people running with you, you can find the strength to continue to the finish line. The same is true in your journey to a new you.
I could really relate to this now, I’m now slowly immersing myself to the activities of the church in our aim to give glory to God. I used to be just in the backseat and watch everything unfolding before my eyes. But now the tables have turned.
The same is true with my fellow batch mates. This is something new to us all and we journey on this together.
There are times when we feel tired in serving the Lord. Let us always remind ourselves of the cross and that this is nothing compares to what God has done for us. He gave His son up for us! Isn’t that mind-blowing?! With GOD, we are not alone! We know it will be ok because God is always there for us and I know He won’t leave us astray.
By God’s Grace, He is sustaining us day after day, giving us the wisdom to accept corrections from others and giving us strengths to do what we have to do.
One way we can all achieve our God-given goals is to have others involved in our lives. Lets us encourage one another, pull each other up in the race for our joy.
Remember brothers and sister, the journey of serving the Lord is not just a one time-run in the park. It is a marathon.
I pray, that we continue to encourage each other and never lose the fire burning in our hearts for the Lord. He deserves all that we have! God bless guys!
